Alumnus John Poole

He studied Electrical Engineering at North Carolina University (Raleigh) and went on to a PhD in Physics. Having done everything to avoid Biology classes at school, he then studied Structural Biology and did research in Bioinformatics (a branch of biological science to do with methods for storing, retrieving and analysing biological data which is useful in such fields as drug design and development of new software tools to create that knowledge. He has secured a lectureship at UKZN in computer engineering and hopes to establish contact with St Henry’s students to interest them in pursuing tertiary studies in related areas.
