Marist Association Winter Holiday Camp

Marist Association Holiday Winter Camp

For the first time ever the Marist Association had a holiday winter camp in the first week of the school holidays.
This camp was offered to the St Henry’s Marist Brothers’ College students in Grades 4 to 7. The entire camp was organised and run by St Henry’s Past Pupils.
Various sports and activities were offered to the participants such as cricket, hockey, soccer, and touch rugby. All of these activities were coached by St Henry’s past pupils.

It was great to see not only the students enjoying themselves but also the coaches. Seeing coaches participate in some of the hockey and soccer matches and complaining more about the referee’s decisions than the kids were, was an interesting scene to watch!
Even though we endured freezing cold temperatures and rain during the week we managed to have a highly successful camp. The December Camp is going to be even better!

The past pupils involved were:
Jason Grieve (Head Boy and Class of 2007), chairs the Marist Association Sub Committee and was the organiser of the event.
Matthew Kimble (Head Boy and Class of 2008) an administrator at the event.
Stacey Hiron (Class of 2009) coached the Hockey at the event.
Matthew Sprong (Class of 2008) was in charge of the cricket.
Erin Honneysett (Class of 2009) coached hockey.
Adam Watson (Class 2007) an administrator at the event.
Anthony Govender (Currently in Matric at St Henry’s) was in charge of touch rugby.
Dipeel Parbhoo (Currently Head Boy at St Henry’s) was in charge of touch rugby.
Karl Laureau (Class of 2007) was in charge of the soccer.
